Sorin Ducaru: I am inspired by the force of our national conscience as a people

The Centenary moment has a tremendous inspirational impact on me.
I am inspired by the force of our national conscience as a people. I am inspired by the vision of the leaders of those times and by their capacity to place great ideals before narrow ambitions, to give absolute priority to genuine national interest, in harmony with our strong European vocation. The historical lesson is obvious, namely that open civic debate and healthy political competition can and must leave room for unity and cooperation, in the spirit of national values and interests, to which we should always aspire.
